WELCOME TO EDINBURG VISION CENTER

We are a team of eye care professionals dedicated to providing quality eye care in the Rio Grande Valley. At Edinburg Vision Center (EVC) you can rest assure that your eyes will be examined using the latest technologies by expert Doctors of Optometry.

EVC was established on June 11, 1968 by Dr. Gary L. Ahlman. A full surfacing lab was added in 1976. It is the largest optometric practice in Edinburg. It is with pride that we boast of the success of Edinburg Vision Center through our loyal patient base via referrals from family, friends, co-workers, and other health care professionals.

At its founding, Dr. Ahlman was the only employee at EVC in a building of 648 sq. ft. on Cano St. in downtown Edinburg with 41 frames for sale, and one exam room. In 1987, EVC was relocated to its current location with a space of 6,500 sq. ft. On June 11, 2009, EVC was purchased by Dr. Luis S. Navarro and after 43 years of practicing, Dr. Ahlman retired. Today EVC operates out of 2 buildings with a combined square footage of more than 10,400 sq. ft., over 25 full-time employees, 12 exam rooms, and 3 full-time Doctors of Optometry.
